Spring Cleaning Tips and Tricks

Spring is here and what does that mean? Yes, it is time for Spring Cleaning! Here are a few tips that will allow you to get your Spring Cleaning off to a good start!

Clean your microwave

Get a sparkling microwave in less than 5 minutes!

Cleaning your microwave does not require all the muscles in your upper body or even fancy chemicals. Instead, take a high quality microfiber, dampen it with water, and set it in the microwave for 1 minute. Let the microfiber cool off for a few minutes and then you will literally be able to wipe the food and grime away, leaving your microwave looking cleaner than ever. Here is a great video showing you how easy it is!

Change air vents

If you have ever dusted only to notice dust minutes later, there is a chance your air vents need to be changed. It is recommended that you change your air filter every 90 days but if you have pets or live in an area with new construction, you might have to change them as often as every 60 days.

Use a rubber broom to deep clean floors

A rubber broom helps to grab pet hair and stubborn dirt particles. Great for using on couches too!

Fur babies bring so much joy and love into our lives but with all of that, they often bring so much hair as well! Do you ever vacuum your carpets and then within minutes notice hair on your socks? A good rubber broom will help to really deep clean areas that have animal hair, including carpet and hard floor surfaces!

Clean your keyboard using a toothbrush

Canned air can be great for cleaning light dust off fragile areas but if you have a keyboard that hasn’t been cleaned in awhile, chances are there is going to be some build up. Taking a soft bristled toothbrush (new preferably!) to clean your keyboard will help to get in the small grooves and remove the buildup, leaving you with a nice, clean keyboard ready to type away. While you are at it, don’t forget to clean your phone too! NEVER underestimate how many germs are present on your phone. You don’t want to know…

Clean ceiling fan blades with a pillow case

Prevent dust from falling on the bed with a pillow case.

Ceiling fans are dust collectors and unfortunately, they can often times be placed right above our beds. While fan dusters can be great, a pillow case will help to trap the dust from the fans rather than letting it fall on to your bed.

And for an organizing tip- Stack clothes vertically instead of folding flat. This will help to make room in your drawers and is a good tip to follow when traveling as well!

What are some tips that you can share to kick off Spring Cleaning? We would love to hear them!
